firstly i would really appreciate an answer for my question from a vet, not a cat expert, as this is a serious problem my 5 year old cat developed extreme allergies to most foods about 3 years ago.the only food she can eat now without diarrhea is hills z/d.i also give her chicken breast sometimes.she is thin but pot-bellied and will eat all day long if you let her.she also eats grass alot until she vomits up yellow mucousy stuff.her stools are also yellow and very smelly although not actually loose.my own vet says she will run blood tests to check her kidney and liver functions but she has had those before and they were ok.she drinks and pees alot more than any other cat i have had but all vets i have seen wont test for hyperthyroidism or pancreatic issues.her pee was negative for infection.one vet hinted at possible cancer but how has rosie lived for 3 years if that is the case.she plays outside and seems otherwise ok apart from constantly wanting to eat.would ibd explain this

HI there.

These symptoms you describe are typical for Irritable Bowel Disease. Especially since this has been going on for such a long time, this should be investigated, There are a number of tests that will confirm this as a diagnosis but the best is an intestinal biopsy with an endoscopy exam.

It is best since you have had many tests, to have a Veterinary Specialist examine Rosie so you can be sure of what is causing this condition. I can tell you are frustrated at not knowing for sure.

Have a specialist examine Rosie and run the tests to deny or confirm this diagnosis. At this point you are only treating the symptoms. IBD has other treatments that may get this under control.
