I had a bilateral varicocelectomy via laparoscopic surgery

Customer Question

Hi. I had a bilateral varicocelectomy via laparoscopic surgery three weeks ago and I'm recovering nicely. No complications. Pain level never more than a two. This is a general question, but what actually happens to the varicoceles after a varicocelectomy? Did the surgeon remove them or are they absorbed by the body? Thanks.

Hello I'm Dr Chip

The surgery fully removes the varicoceles--there are none left behind
