Customer Question

I have been having gross hematuria (google is my friend) for about a month. It has been intermittent. Last thursday and friday I had gross hematuria each time I urinated. While urinating Sat., I passed a clot that temporarily completely interuppted my urine flow. After I passed it, I have not had a reocurence of gross hematuria. I am currently in FL but live in MI.
JA: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: I'm having trouble getting an appointment. I take metroprolol, atorvastatin, aspirin, losarton and cialis.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: I've had a 4XCABG, and had an ICD put in after a episode of VTACH. No reoccurence.

Any burning on urination with this?

No burning

OK--all I can do here is give you my thoughts and tell you what I would do if I were your doctor

Will that be OK for you?

OK

Obviously this needs investigation, first with an exam, a formal urinalysis, a digital prostate exam, and an ultrasound of your kidneys, bladder, and scrotum

The possibilities are--

A prostate infection

Bladder cancer

Testicular cancer

Kidney cancer or nephritis

I can't pinpoint just one diagnosis but those are the differentials

Please let me know if you need any more information
