Thanks for this question. I think you are talking about a normal urine analysis test is that correct?

Well the presence of epithelial cells in the urine is a completely normal finding which is to be expected in a majority of the sample. this simply means that some of the cells either from the skin of the penis or elsewhere are found in the sample or even from the internal lining of the urethra, this is normal and nothing to be worried about. The presence of mucus in urine however can indicate that there was a urinary tract infection in the recent past which is causing the mucus to be excreted in the urine. In addition other causes like IBS or even urinary tract obstruction because of stones or even prostate issues can cause mucus in the urine. So while the epithelial cells can be considered as normal, mucus would require a urine culture to be done as well as examination of the prostate. But in most cases the underlying cause is benign in nature.

The blood in semen can also be due to a benign cause, it can occur after vigorous exercise or sexual intercourse but in light of the mucus in urine, prostatic infections or stones in the prostatic urethra or even benign enlargement of the prostate have to be considered as a cause for this. This can be done with a prostate exam and a prostatic ultrasound.
