Im sorry to hear about your symptoms. Now there are several causes for blood in the urine, this can be of several types, painless bleeding has a number of causes and painful bleeding has other causes. Now the first thing which comes to mind is that you can have an infection in the urinary tract, this can cause dark colored urine, foul ofodr to the urine, lower abdominal pain as well as blood in the urine. This can be diagnosed on the basis of a simple urine test and culture and then treated with antibiotics.

If the bleeding in accompanied by pain in the flanks then the cause can be kidney stones as well, this would also cause increased frequency of urination and severe flank pain which radiates down into the groin. The diagnosis is made with the help of urine test and an abdominal ultrasound. The treatment can be with drugs and in some cases soundwave therapy or surgery if the stone is large enough.

Another cause can be related to the prostate, if there is an infection in the prostate it would cause similar symptoms to a UTI and also blood in the semen in some cases. This would again need a prostate examination as well as a urine test to be diagnosed. The treatment would be with antibiotics.

Lastly if there is no pain with the bleeding, then there isa chance of it being due to a malignant tumor in the bladder or the prostate. This would require and immediate ultrasound of the abdomen or even an ultrasound of the prostate to be diagnosed. if you are on any blood thinners like aspirin or warfarin, that too can cause bleeding in the urine.

In short, bleeding of this sort MUST be evaluated as soon as possible and if you can visit your doctor to do so that would be the best option. If you cannot visit your doctor soon, then go to an urgent care center and get diagnosed via the tests i described above.
