JA: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: Benadryl and Nyquil for sleep aids Doc said I have enlarged prostate

Well, i would make clear that benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a normal part of growing older.

Also, Prostate enlargement is so common that about half of men have it by age 60.

These medications should be avoided while having BPH-

1. Diuretics.

2. Antidepressant drugs specifically tricyclics.

3. Antihistamines, such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl).

4. Decongestants, such as pseudoephedrine (Sudafed).

5. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and aspirin.
