Customer Question

My father had surgery about a month ago (bladder/prostate related). He developed a UTi over the course of the last few weeks, and it is being treated with the antibiotic Ciproflaxin (500mg). He has been on the anitibiotic for about 6 days now, and he has a lot of blood and discharge in his urine. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

A lot of blood for a uti that is visible is not normal.

This often implies a problem with the surgical site, or with the bladder.

He should be talking with the surgeon, who I assume is a urologist.

He should go to the ER if this gets worse or continues unabated.
