Hi there..I just got a letter saying I went over a level crossing with the red light showing for at least 1second..I was cought by a mobile camera police vehicle.ive never had any points on my licence and my career is driving so ya..I'm a bit worried..what advice could you kindly help me out with??thanks

I do remember the day and remember the mobile police van with about 4camera's on it.they say they can provide photo evidence.I just wasnt sure if I went though the yellow or the red at the time.would this be seen as dangerous driving?really cant afford a penalty of 6 to 9 points.

No, but it would probably be careless driving. They could just prosecute the S36 RTA offence of disobeying a traffic signal. With level crossings they do sometimes prosecute it as a driving without due care though.

I'm afraid that carries 3-9 points or a ban but you won't get a ban. I would expect 3-6 points and a financial penalty.
