My partner and I are both now retired since selling our business…

My partner and I are both now retired since selling our business in the UK in March 2013. My question concerns CGT and whether to continue as a business partnership.
The facts are as follows:- the business, including the property in which it operated, was purchased in 2004 for £139,500. This was split up as 98,000 property, 33,000 goodwill, 8,500 fixtures and fittings; so 41,500 for the business. In March 2013 the business was sold but we retained the property. The business sold for £55,000. The selling split was 10,000 for the lease, 40,000 goodwill and 5,000 fixtures and fittings. The expenses for agents, solicitors, etc., were £11,432. So I believe this is a nett gain of £2,068 for the CGT purpose, is that correct (point 1)? I am led to understand that the first £10,600 is exempt and thus no CGT is due to be paid, is that correct (point 2)?
Our business tax year runs from 1st May to 30th April, so as the sale was in March 2013 the sale will come within the Tax year ending 5th April 2014. As we file electronically as a partnership, ie we each do a return plus a partnership return, how do we file this information, what forms do we need to file and attach and on which returns (point 3)?
The final part of this is that we are still a partnership, and as this tax return will be the last in which there is any profit from the original business, from then on it will be just the income and expenses from the rent of the property only, which includes a private flat. So should we simplify matters as far as our tax returns are concerned and dissolve the partnership now or when (point 4)? Originally one partner had a pension and one didn’t, so there were advantages in an unequal percentage split with the partnership, but now we are both pensioners so it is equal. However, on the horizon is the fact that the current tenants who occupy both the business and the attached living accommodation have the option to purchase the whole property in 2 years time. They may opt to continue with the rental for 10 years or more as per the lease agreement! At that point, should the sale materialize, there would be an approximate profit on the property of £70,000 once expenses are taken out and then presumably some CGT would be payable, or would it, depending on how it is handled from now on (point 5)? The property split is approx. 60% business and 40% private accommodation. My business partner and I lived there in the private accommodation as our PPR for over a year and then my Son lived there for a further 3+ years (rent free) until 2008. After that it was empty for a while and then rented out until the sale, with occasional gaps!
