I am Sam and I am one of the UK tax experts here on Just Answer.

I have many clients who have graced my doorstep due to failure to submit tax returns.

Its important that you establish how far back you owe tax returns for - and I assume (or you would have advised) HMRC have not issued estimated tax bills for the year 2007/2008 onwards ? Can you clarify.
Have you established with HMRC whether later returns are outstanding?

May I ask what income you did have from 2007/2007 (or how you lived) did you get benefits ? Please advise further.

And do get the 2012/2013 tax return submitted - as this does need to be undertaken - and I would get this done as a matter of urgency as the deadline is 31/01/2014

Let me have the information asked for- and I can advise how to proceed from 2006/2007 to 2012/2013

You do need to get in touch with HMRC and ask them to issue you with a 2012/2013 tax return as you realise that a dividend payment you have received may have a further tax liability on it, so you feel that from 2012/2013 you may in fact (being a little coy with it !) need to be back within self assessment.

Then see if they have anything to say about outstanding returns/ tax and if they advise you of this, then be honest and advise that you have heard nothing from them at all, so assumed that all was up to date and in order (however do note that if you have changed address and not notified them, then this is your responsibility rather than theirs!)

If all is in order, they will have no interest is what you have been doing from 2006/2007 to 2011/2012 - and as long as you were not required to fill in a return for those later years, they will just arrange to issue with a tax return and should give you 12 weeks to get this back to them.

But I think your concerns are probably going to amount to nothing -
