Small UK LLP - are there any sanctions (penalty / legal) when you miss a deadline for filing annual accounts?

Thank you for your question.

RE: Penalties for late filing of accounts to Companies House

Late By:
1 day - 1 month: Penalty £150
1 - 3 months: Penalty £375
3 - 6 months: Penalty £750
>6 months: Penalty £1,500

If the failure occurred in previous year also, then the above penalties will be doubled.

This applies to dormant companies also.

If persistently late for longer periods, they can also close the company/LLP down.

They will issue a penalty notice with amounts, and if not paid, it will be referred to collection agents. If it still remains unpaid, legal action may be taken which could result in a County Court judgement or a Sheriff Court decree against your company.

I trust the above clarifies.

Best wishes
