Assuming you have not claimed any Jobseekers allowance or had any other taxable income since Christmas ( so the temp work would need to be added in)
The repayment without the temp work would be
Income 29920 Tax paid £5338.00
Less Tax free allowances 6475
Taxable 23445 x 20% = 4689.00 tax due
Repayment due £649.00
But this will be slightly less as the temp gross income (and any tax suffered will need adding it) along with Jobseekers if claimed
if you have not claimed Jobseekers allowance - you need to write to HMRC and advise them of all income and tax paid for the period 06/04/2009 to 05/04/2010 and they will process this repayment for you - this could take some weeks as this is a busy time of year
If you did claim Jobseekers allowance - there will still be a repayment due - but less - as Jobseekers allowance is taxable income - so has to be added in.
If you handed your P45 from both the last full employment and the temp work - then any repayment due will be made anytime now by the Jobseekers office.
If you did not hand your P45 in - then wait for form P60U from the DWP and again you will need to write into HMRC - with details of all income and the P60U for them to process any repayment

In your letter list the employments and dates and also fill in the gaps to show there was no employment and no claim for Jobseekers allowance
so for example - 06/04/2009 to 28/10/2009 working for xxxxxx
29/10/2009 to 18/12/2009 no work and no Jobseekers claimed
9/12/2009 to 04/01/2010 Temp work for xxxxxxxxxx
05/01/2010 to 05/04/2010 no work and no Jobseekers claimed
This saves on delay them writing questions they would need answers to - they then have copies of the P45 and are aware what you have been up to
They should process this by Aug - but if you add you bank details (sort code, account number and name) into your letter - they can by by BACS for you
And should you work between 06/04/2010 to leaving the UK in Aug - do also make a claim - you must complete a form P85 (even of not claiming a repayment) - link here for P85 , as if you are to be treated as not resident - (if you are to leave with employment that will last at least a full tax year, or leave for an indefinite/permanent time - and will not return for visits that exceed more than an average of 90 days in any one tax year - or more than 182 days in any one tax year) then you will get a repayment on any UK tax paid between 6/04/2010 and Aug (if you have paid any) and be eligible to earn income abroad free of UK tax
