If you decide to leave the UK and become non-resident and have been paying tax under PAYE, you may be entitled to a tax refund by having your unused tax allowances offset against your earnings during the tax year concerned. However, if you leave towards the end of the tax year ie in March the chances are no tax refund will be due as you are likely to have had your full allowances against your earnings ie 1/12th of the annual tax allowance (currently £6475) is given against your earnings each month.
If you decide to leave the UK, complete a form P85 here and send it to your tax office with your form P45 (given to you by your employer) and HMRC will refund any tax refund due to you.
