The CIS cards/certificates went out on 06/04/2007 and from now on in if you work as a subbie, the contractor takes your UTR number (unique Taxpayer Reference) and conducts a verification process with HMRC.


Your card will be useful as its holds your UTR number, but not valid for anything.
