one from the permanent live and the other to the motorised valve brown to power it open.

You should use a proper S Plan wiring diagram to show you the wiring of the junction box

Radiator receiver L1 to T5 (brown cable fro 2 port valve)on my S plan
LS and LR straight to the boiler not to wiring centre like you suggested before
And My S Plan is absolutely fine.
