Just had this problem with my Glow Worm / British Gas 330.

Hi Brian, Just had this...

Hi Brian, Just had this problem with my Glow Worm / British Gas 330. However, the button mentioned didn't seem to need pushing down. I had a problem yesterday which was low pressure and that was sorted by our plumber increasing the pressure in the system. However, it didn't start this morning and the pressure was fine. Same fault F5. It has now started again, but i didn't do anything except switch it off and on again.

Verified

F5 is usually overheating. This could be down to low water levels or poor pump performance.

Thanks for your response Andrew. Given that the boiler is in the basement and that the system has been re-pressurised, I suspect that pump is most likely to be at fault. the pressure has probably been low for some time as I did not spot it. Could it have worn out in these circumstances?

It could be or it could be full of air. There is an auto air vent on the pump block, make sure the cap is loose.
Also take out the big screw at the front if the pump and ensure it is actually spinning

OK thanks. Most likely full of air. At least one radiator was half empty (not bled) when the boiler stopped working and was repressurised.I've no idea where the air went.
