Customer Question

hi, our bathroom hot and cold water is fed by the tank in the loft. our cold water in the bathroom sometimes slows right down to a dribble and we are wanting to put the cold side on the mains and keep the hot water gravity fed, would this work or could the mains pressure back up into the hot water side and dump water through the vent into the tank?
JA: How long has this been going on? And how severe is the problem?
Customer: on and off since we had the property for less than a year
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: most probably not
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?

Putting the cold to mains pressure is fine cut the cold feed off the tank cap the tank end then link the cold mains from the ball valve to your open pipe with a valve.

Be aware the pressure increase and your existing pipework check for leaks
