JA: How long has this been going on? And how severe is the problem?
Customer: a couple of weeks. also a lound banging was heard from the boiler around the same time i didnt hear it but others did
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: maybe
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: the pressure drops right down after a couple of weeks, a plumber did put an external expansion tank in but it still goes down.

Hi firstly the hot water problem is most likely the plate heat exchanger.

The pressure dropping means you have a leak somewhere.

If the boiler is not over pressurising check the relief pipe outside to see if its dripping, before you go hunting for leaks
