How to replace a faucet on a step-in bath unit after the faucet

Customer Question

How to replace a faucet on a step-in bath unit after the faucet has dropped to the floor by accident while being discovered by a young visitor? It looks to me like the whole unit has to be removed an reinstalled unless you have a better solution.

Yes, either the entire unit needs to be removed or an access panel cut into the end wall if it's not part of the tub skirt. i.e. Drywall or tile. Do not cut the tub itself.
