I recently bought a house with a valliant eco max 665

Hi, I recently bought a house with a valliant eco max 665 boiler, configured in an s plan plus arrangement, with valves for HW, CH and towel rails. It has a valliant low loss header, and a closed water tank.
I have 3 questions about the system which are confusing me.
1) everything is connected through a sundial wiring centre (with labelled terminals for all components). The Honeywell wiring guide says a 10 way terminal block should be used for s plan plus, is it potentially ok that they have used the wiring centre, or likely to indicate an issue?
2) There is a Drayton Lp 522 programming unit for HW and CH, but the heating controller does not seem to turn off the heating according to a schedule (although hard to tell frankly). I noticed neither CH OFF and HW OFF (pins 1&2) are connected, which would seem an obvious reason, but I am unsure if they are used in the s plan plus approach. Is this what you would expect?
3) there was no room stat installed (just a wire between the terminals on the sundial wiring centre. I have added a Honeywell wireless programmable thermostat, by wiring a Honeywell bd91 directly into the room stat terminals. But this also does not turn off the heating according to a schedule. (I set the Drayton control unit to permanently on, thinking the thermostat would override this based on temp/time settings). I am unsure if this relates to issue 2, or if I am just approaching in a stupid way.
