Customer Question

Hi, I have a glow worm that was installed 2.5 years ago. My mate is renting the house and just told me that the screen is flashing 2.9bar and the heating won't come on.
Is this a serious problem?
Thanks for any help

The pressure too high.

Try bleeding a radiator into a tub to drop the pressure down to 1.5 bar

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Do I need to turn the boiler off until then or is it safe?
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 1 year ago.

Your boiler will protect itself, it will be fine

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Thanks mate

ok, come back if ou need me again

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Will do. If after bleeding and then turning the heating back on, the pressure rises straight back up?
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 1 year ago.

The filling loop must be passing or not turned off correctly.

Do you have a built in one or is there a silver flexible pipe attached to the pipework under the boiler?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
There is a silver flexible pipe under the boiler
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 1 year ago.

Ok, are both valves off?

Can you take the flexible hose off and tell me if it continues to drip for more than 5 minutes?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yep, I'll get the guy in the house to do it.He says there is only one valve though?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
There is a yellow one not connected to the silver pipe. Turn both of those off?
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 1 year ago.

Yellow is gas.

If it only has one valve then that is ok, turn it off and on take the hose off and let's see if the pressure continues to rise
