Another Honeywell V4043H1056, normally closed type question. It's been fitted to a new UFH system. 2 parts top this: I think this zone valve has been fitted to the return feed, rather than flow from the boiler, does this matter? Part 2: I think it's also fitted the wrong way round ie the arrow on the side seems against the flow in the pipework. What effect does this have on the 2 port valve if fitted the wrong way round?Will it still work properly. Experiencing no thumps when the system comes on and off. many thanks

It does not matter if it is in the flow or the return, but it does matter if it is in the wrong way round.

If fitted the wrong way then the constant force against the ball inside the valve and prematurely age it

OK I understand & thank you for the response. You confirmed what I had determined on reading many conflicting web pages. There is an arrow stamped on the side of the zone for a reason! Our general builder clearly forgot which way round the pipes were ie flow & return, and giving him benefit of the doubt, fitted it the what he thought was the correct way round. Next time I'll use a plumber, rather than a general builder who thinks he can do plumbing. Thank you again. Money well spent with you
