my Ideal Classic FF 350P will not fire up. Fan runs but

Customer Question

Hello, my Ideal Classic FF 350P will not fire up. Fan runs but no spark is seen. Pump still runs when boiler is switched off. Any clues? Also, is it normal for a diode type component on the PCB to flash and make a clicking noise? Thermostate, controls all set as per the manual. Thanks

It sounds like it is try to spark then.

Try taking the ignition lead off and holding it a couple of mm away from the metal case to see if it sparks?

Thanks. I've removed the burner. Its not possible to remove the lead but I can now see there is a spark at the ignition electrode.

Ok give it a good clean to ensure the spark is bright and hot.

Put it back together and tell me what happens - is it still sparking when black together?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

pilot seems to burning but the burner has'nt kicked in. Also the diode is still flashing and clicking on the pcb.

Ok, if still flashing then it does not know it is lit.

You should replace the ignition electrode and lead first
