I have got exactly the same problem with my vaillant turbomax plus 828E, which you answered two years ago, error F22 and sometimes F24, no heating, intermediate warm/cold water, sometimes temp goes up to 98 and straight back to normal and needle on pressure gage wobble up and back down again, have cleaned system, emptied, refilled, emptied, bleed all rads and have just checked motor as you told the other person, in done large screw and pump is spinning.
F22 is dry fire, low water in system F24 dry fire, low water pump faulty/not working.
Have you got any idea what it can be?

When you took the screw out of the centre were the inside of the pump spinning?

Yes, a little water came out and was spinning really fast.

ok, can you leave the screw out and try turning off and on a few times and see if the pump releases air at that time

Ok I've done that and when it's on a little water comes out, then a banging grinding sound even more faster water comes out and it stops spinning, I done that 3 times and the same thing happened.

It is either airlocked or broken.
It may be spinning but not moving water.

It's very late can I carry this on tomorrow please.
As I need to know is it broken being as it's less then 2years old as is the vessel and the heat exchanger is less then a year, ect ect how do you test to make sure?

If you have any circulation then the flow pipe out of the bottom of the boiler will get hot and the return get cold?

Can you tell me how far the heat gets?
You either have a pump not working correctly or a blockage in the pipework.

Hi again,
It's worse this morning I know have a new fault code
F.20 Overheat Problem.
F.22 Dry fire, low water in system/Overheat.
F.24 Low water, or Pump failure/blockage.
The temp is about 35/45 then when I run the water green light flashes and as soon as orange light comes on temp goes up to 105 makes a terrible noise and red light comes on, temp comes down and all is silent.
We have had an engineer here a couple of time a few weeks ago and replaced two little temp things (can't remember the name £30 odd pound each, heating only worked mainly upstairs and water was hot but intermittent and he did not know what to do, but a friend retired boiler specialist and he said he thinks we've either got air or muck in the system, so got some specialist de sailing products from plumb centre and left it in the system for nearly a week, system worked better but not how it should and now 4 days ago we now have nothing.
I'm wondering on having a power flush, what do you think?

You are getting any circulation, so either a new pump required or a powerflush.
Make sure they powerflush the system with the boiler disconnected or they will blow all the crap back into the heat exchanger.
You may find the pump is blocked?
