hi, I have a Glowworm...

hi, I have a Glowworm Flexicom 24cx, looks like it was installed in December 2009 by SSE. Now is constantly leaking from the central heating isolation valves (filling loop and valve attached to the mains feed). Boiler still works fine until the heat exchanger loop? inside the boiler drains enough to fault in low pressure F9, then have to charge it up to requisite pressure. Wondering if changing valves would help as think the mains valve let by first and the slow build up of pressure compromised the filling loop valve? (filling loop was left attached!) Both are the grey tap type. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi I am Rick, UK Plumber, and I specialize on Boiler problems, just replace all the valves including the filling loop, these valves tend to have limited life, the filling loop passing will not have had any effect on the leaking valves, as it would not have gone beyond the max 3 bar design pressure, the pressure relief valve will have vented any excess, it is well worth checking the PRV and if in doubt renew it as well, while the system is de pressurized check for any other possible leak points, rust marks on joints, any crusty joints, split them and remake, then you should be fine for a few more years, Rick
