VerifiedHi I am Rick, UK Plumber, and I specialize on Boiler problems, it is unlikely that draining the boiler has caused this fault, F1 is "failed to light 5 times" this is more to do with spark gaps, electrode condition, electrode leads, gas/air ratio, blocked/restricted flue, the only link I can think of when draining the boiler is did you turn the gas off, if so is it back on fully and it is just possible that in doing so some debris was released that is effecting the gas valve operation although I think this unlikely, so my first port of call would be the electrodes and connecting wires, Rick
