I'm a dinosaur! What and where is the transmitter located? And to what units do you rfere?

The transmitter is the part that you press with the buttons on, the receiver is the part with the fault lights on.
Try replacing the batteries in the transmitter first.

It's actually a Honeywell Transmitter...where would the battery compartment be located?

In the front, or it hooks off the wall and they will be underneath

I can't see any where there is a compartment. The unit is an ST9400c with a cable running into it. The display is on and illuminated indicating the time and the date although both are incorrect.

No, on the digitstat.
That is the programmer.

It's SCR Digistat wireless unit with a cable connecting it. Both the green and the red (alarm) lights are illuminated so I presume it's connected. However it seems to be a sealed unit and there is no apparent means of there being a battery compartment.

That is the receiver, the red light is an alarm light to say there is no communication.
The batteries are in the transmitter (where you turn the temperature up and down)

It's a Honeywell transmitter,I have taken the front off but there is no battery compartment!

Can you take it off the wall and sit it by the receiver and see if it re syncs again?

It's screwed into the wall!

I have to go out now and won't be back until later but thanks for trying to help.I will call someone to come round tomorrow and repair the propblem!

Ok.
Make sure they show you how to sort this.
You should find that the transmitter is only hooked onto a couple of screws.
