Verified. The cause is most likely pressures equalizing in the hot water hydronic circuit when the zone valves close and the pump(s) shut off.. causing the control valves to chatter slightly. it presents no hazard, and is almost, but not quite a normal situation.Fitting an additional 2 gallon size expansion tank into the system has a good chance of curing the problem, if the existing expansion tank is fit into the hot water supply line, fit the additional one into the return line. the other possibility is simply air trapped in the system. often it can be difficult to bleed air that is trapped in the system but it can be done by bleeding at the union joints amongst the system.
I'm sure your plumber could take care of it. the cost however I don't know but I'm sure a phone quote would clear that up. one other issue could be the condensation drain from the vent could be clogged. there should be a clear tube on the vent. if the condensation cannot escape it will back up into the fan and cause noise and also damage the fan.
