Question Summary
Hi ,we have a Baxi megaflo boiler fitted ..recently it has started to behave erratically .During the period when the central heating is "On" the boiler switches off when the room thermostat has reached the desired level. However ,when the room thermostat calls for more heat the boiler fails to fire up .Sometimes we can get the boiler to fire up by first switching the system to "Off" ,waiting at least 30minutes ,and then switching the system back on .I have tried using the Reset switch on the control panel to no effect .You can see the water temp drop from say 65c all the way back to 25c without the boiler switching back on.Answer Summary

The boiler will fire from cold, but not restart?Does it make any attempt to restart when the temperature starts to drop?Is the room thermostat calling for heat at the time?It sounds like an ignition fault and perhaps a split ignitor which shorts to earth when hot.
