Hi, I dont know if the programmer is working as it should, all I can say is that the boiler started to give the follow ing problems

1. boiler started shutting down and displaying a flashing light, boiler would not operate again until it had been switched off at fused spur for a period of time. DHW was not affected.

2. Boiler then gave up altogether on Heating, but continued to supply DHW.

3.Boiler then started locking out on DHW after it had been running for long enough to fill half a bath roughly.

I have now fitted new PCB and it is now back to supplying hot water but not heating. When I press the button to advance heating on programmer, the boiler does nothing. No start up procedure.

This would suggest a programmer fault but given the previous problems, I am not so sure. I dont have access to a electrical tested to check for a supply.

Any ideas?

No, the mechanical prgrammer has been removed and a danfoss wall mounted programmer fitted.

the wall mounted programmer is wired into :

Pink coloured into L

Light Brown colour into N

Dark Brown into LN

Ithink the pink is Live, Light Brown is Neutral and Dark Brown Is the switched live.

Yes, except the last one is marked FV. When you say timer, do you mean the danfoss programmer?

Is it the wire into LR that I need to disconnect? I have a heat proof cable four wires within ? I am off to the shed to find a bit of suitable wire.

But this would disconnect all power to the boiler? and there are two marked LS?

one cable containing four wires, Earth to earth, pink to L, light brown to N, and dark brown to LR.

Thats all, ? No more wires into boiler from mains 240v anywhere.

Boiler working, will get a new programmer tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Does not explain why the boiler was ding all that weird stuff before though? Do you think that I am just unlucky enough to have a dodgy board and programmer at the same time? Do I now 'Rate to Finish to pay you? I have given my details but it said I would not be charged until I was happy, and I am now happy, and getting warmer.....

The boiler is in the attic, so the programmer has to be down stairs, so power goes to fused spur downstairs, then into the programmer and then back to the fused spur and on upstair to the boiler. It is just the same as running two wires to the boiler as you would have to have a live feed to the boiler from downstairs, then back down stairs to the programmer and then back upstairs to the boiler. Fused spur is next to the programmer in the kitchen. Is that not right?
