do I check on the output from the main pcb? what settting do I need on the boiler (ie am I checking the power when I start the hot water tap running) what voltage am I looking for ??

I buzzed both ends of the cable out, they're ok

on the PCB end it says 3V3 on the upper of the 3 connections, and OU REMP on the lower 2. on the end to the motor I get -3.3v between the top and middle connections and no voltage between the bottom 2 !!

checked as suggested - top connector on motor 24v ac, middle 0v, bottom no reading

you said initially the valve could be stuck - is there any way of checking that ?? does the valve stay in the central heating position and the motor pushes it in to give hot water? if I remove the motor and run the hot water should I be able to see anything physically to show the motor is running ?

also, if I leave the boiler like this without hot water, will any damage occur - I know the boiler moves things around every 24hrs so they don't stick

andrew, I've taken the motor off, it doesn't look to move (it is the outer black spindle that should rotate?) ... if the motor has blown is it because the valve is stuck and it's overloaded the motor?

I bought a new motor but the problem is still there. I took the motor out of the valve and ran the water to see if it moved, but it didn't!!
