Customer Question

I have a question about employment and credit report. Are you able to assist me?
JA: No. I'm the Lawyer's Assistant.
Customer: Never mind then
JA: What state is this in? And when did the issue begin?
Customer: I am in the UK and have been asked by my employer based in the UK to give my SSN for obtaiining my credit report.
I have worked for several employers as a contractor in the UK and have been though background checks for them, I have never been asked for my US social security number and my US credit report.
While there are agreements between the US and the UK, I dont believe there are any requiring American Citizens to provide their SSN for hiting purposes, except in certain circumstances which I dont think apply to me
JA: Has anything been filed or reported?
Customer: On my credit report?
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: No
