Customer Question

My ex-husband has recently died intestate. We had always remained close and he verbally assured me that I was to be a beneficiary of his will. Should all three of my children agree to a deed of variation to my advantage, will I have to pay tax on the monies received?
Many Thanks

If the children agree to this no tax will be payable - Inheritance tax is payable by the Estate and not the beneficiary.
