Do we actually need a solicitor .We are selling our takeaway

Customer Question

Do we actually need a solicitor .We are selling our takeaway business to our chef ,everything is agreed ,price ,due dilligence etc .As i see it only a new lease needs to be drawn up with the landlord who has indicated he would be happy to give my chef a new 5 year lease ,so why do i need a solicitor or am i missing something ?

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am a solicitor based in London. To answer your question: If you know what you're doing then you don't need a solicitor and can save yourself legal fees; you can draw the lease yourself and arrange transfer of the business. The downside is if you get it wrong you could be personally held liable.
