I stole around £4000 cash, £70 credit card misuse and £50

Customer Question

Hi there, I stole around £4000 cash, £70 credit card misuse and £50 voucher misuse. I have already been dismissed from my employer and they have already advised that they will be contacting the police. The figures they have used for the cash amount is inaccurate but I only realised this after dismissal. My questions are do they have to be completely accurate with the cash amount, which I will bring up to a lawyer and secondly what will the likely outcome be when this goes to court? I have never committed any other crime and consider myself of good character, contrary to what I have done. I did try to offer to pay the money back at my hearing but they were not interested. The money was taken as part of a gambling addiction which I have taken means to correct in therapy and gambling meetings, will this be helpful at court? Thanks Jo :-s
