Help - a family member has just been arrested in the uk following…

He said he had done nothing wrong. He refused legal representation.

Our info is limited as it is coming from his very agitated mum in the UK

When his mum asked the police where he was they gave a number which turns out to be wormwood scrubs. My guess is that he has been remanded there after refusing to go to his mums in favour of returning home. My assumption is that the police/courts are basically ensuring that he doesn't return to his homewhere tensions are very high, and don't have much option when he refused to go to his mum's place. the great worry now is we cannot contact him.

can I send a smile if you can explain how we get in touch and find out just what is happening ?

Unfortunately I don't know. I suspect that the statement that he "said he'd done nothing wrong" probably means yes, plead not guilty - BUT we don't even know what he was charged with. The accusation from his girlfriend was "he hit me and threatened to kill me" - his statement is that they rowed and pushed each other - my assumption is still that the police have treated this as a high temperature domestioc where his going to his mum's would have been sufficient - the problem appears to have stemmed from his refusal to do this. We desperately want to find out what is happening but cannot seem to contact anyone.

I'm very worried for his mum - she is a respectable arab woman with not-brilliant english when upset., hence trying to findf out what we can do to shed some light on the matter.

Thanks - one last thing - if we do not know the court number, is there anyone who will respond now (given out of office hours) who we can tell his mum to contact who can help on the ground there ? I think she'll go crazy if stuck for 7 days, and I agree, he needs a solicitor.
