How valid is a contract - credit agreement if (pre April 2007)

I need to know - with reference tot he questions asked, if the contract is valid as I have a dispute over such a contract, with a finance company whereby my ID and my vehicle ID were used to defraud the credit company out of £7000. The agreement has a "copy" of a signature which is very close to mine and I need to prove the contract is not valid regardless tot he signature

By prescribed terms do you mean - 1: the deposit - yes it states £1225.00 (but neither I or any representative of mine paid this deposit) and the garage have not given me proof of how this payment was made even though they have been asked about 4x. 2: car registration detail are completely wrong and the DVLA have stated on record the correct registration and that the registration number used, was not in official use and had not been for 4 years. 3: I was not a party to the original agreement, therefore its contents (even the address is not complete) are incorrect and the signature looks like mine, but is not mine Is this what you mean or do you mean something different.

The point you have made I am already aware of, I guess what I need to know is if (especially) as I am claiming a fraud has taken place, the fact that no deposit was actually made, but they claim there was and the fact that the car they said the loan was for, did not actually exist, whether this is something the court would over look or consider that such material mistakes to be an import part of a valid contract. My claim has always been that I was not a party to the agreement and as such I should not be held liable to it and as the fraudster made such errors, that I should not be held responsible for them or their fraud - I gained nothing from this fraud, they gain £000's from their act of deception. This I have already done and guess what, they say the fraud is against the bank and my loss doesn't appear to matter - it has been reported, but the bank's attitude is to chase me rather than the person who has defrauded them and got there money and the police basically can not be bother and have told me so point blank. My redress is to prove the contract is not valid and thus get my losses back from the bank.

It is my intention to seek redress against the bank through the courts. The act of fraud I can already prove but the bank's argument is they have a copy of my signature on the contract, they seem to ignore the fact that both my ID and that of my previous car have been cloned.. this is why I am asking, can the mistakes on the contract - stand alone as making the contract void. I do not want to just rely on an expert witness saying this is a good copy of my signature but it is or is not mine, I want to go to court knowing that the fact that I was not a party to the contract, did not pay any disposit towards getting the bank to agree this loan, the fact that the car I was suppose to have brought had the wrong registration details on the contract or that the invoice the garage gave to the bank in order to get their payment also has my address incorrect, the mileage of the car incorrect etc.. I want to make sure that I am not wasting my time as I can not rely on the police.. maybe I should just get a barrister to analyise these facts and give me a straight yes the contract is void or no its not void and the bank have you over a barral.. this is identity theft and the law does not seem willing to help the victims. I appreciate your input but I need an answer to my original question which might be beyond this help facility.
