I have worked for the company 28 years and 3 years in that dept.

My role is an administrator and my collegue's is an auditor, i had been asked 6 months earlier if i wanted to do audits as a development opportunity. I accepted and my admin work was transferred to her. My A2 collegue told me privately she couldnt do audits, i have a copy of her new job description which clearly states level 1 competency to be able to do her role not level 2 which is suppossed to be her role she is being paid as an A2. Then a notice arrived from the director saying that the dept wanted to reduce one of the A1 roles as the A1 work had gone down. There is another A1 in the office besides me. So i have 50% risk but that collegue has depression and may have protection.

There are 4 auditors at A2 Grade 2 administrators at A1.

1 Auditor cannot do audits so they have thought of a solution to give me audits as i want to progress( i am still paid at A1). They are making a redundancy as they say A1 work has reduced, in effect it hasnt its been given to an A2 and they are putting me and the other A1 who has depression at risk.

My A2 collegue who is not now doing audits but now my admin work is definitely not at risk.

Good question i still do a bit of admin work but the majority of my work is auditing.

The company have not given any detail on how they believe the admin work has been reduced, it clearly hasnt as a lot of it has been given to my A2 Collegue. However to be clear the auditing work is not being made redundant the company say the admin role has been reducing
