This will simply come down to whether a judge believes you or them however you can help the judge by putting the facts in such a way as to make your version more likely. For example if you had not written the first letter then what, according to the school, was the purpose of the meeting that you had. If the first letter had not been written there would be no purpose in such a meeting because they would just assume that things were to continue as normal.

Also do you have any other evidence that you are likely to have written the letter. Did you discuss your plans for your daughter's education with anyone else that would be willing to support you by providing you with a statement . They cannot say that you wrote the letter unless they saw it being done but it makes it more likely that you did.

Yes of course they are. They will deny giving you the wrong advice in the office or that they received or were aware of the first letter. You cannot prove that you sent the letter or that they gave you the wrong advice so your case hangs on why you would want a meeting if the first letter had not been written

My point is that you asked for the meeting to re apply to the school based on the bursary. You needed to re apply because you had written withdrawing your daughter. You had applied for the bursary because you could not afford to keep her there. These factors suggest that you are more likely to have written the first letter than not written it and the school have just lost it.

If however the school can explain why the meeting occurred without you writing the first letter then you will lose.

You do not need to do anything in relation to court proceedings if they issue them you will simply be served.

However you may wish to consider getting a solicitor to write to see if you can put them off claiming or to compromise the claim
