I recently changed my name using on online Deed Poll service

This answer was rated:

I recently changed my name using on online Deed Poll service but I have since changed my mind. Can I have the Deed Poll revoked and revert to my original name?

HelloCustomer

If the online service you have used includes sending the change of name to a registry office then you will have to do another change of name (ie. from your "new" name to your old name) and make sure the same registry receives it.

If the online service does not send the change of name to any registry office then you can continuing using your old name for all the existing institutions with which you have a relationship (ie. bank, dvla, social security etc).

Have you made any of these institutions aware of your change of name?

Yes, my bank my building society and the Department for work and pensions.

Thank you for accepting my response and very kind bonus.

If your bank, building society and DWP have you in their records under your "new" name then they will only change their records back to your "old" name if you produce a new change of name deed to them.

Frustrating, I do sympatise.

Kind regards,
