as a starting point your son should contact his ex (possibly using family mediation - www.familymediationhelpline.org.uk) to ask for her to sign a parental responsibility agreement so that he has pr - if she will not agree then he should make an application to the court as it is essential that that is where you start
with either method there will be a chance to raise other issues - but i am afraid it willbe a number of years before yoru grandson will be old enough to make his own choices about where he lives
