From the information you have prvided, it would seem that the reason your grandson was excluded was due to biting another child.
If this is the case, the nursery would be entitled to impse their rule of requiring the child to be collected immediately and not reimbursing the parent for the day as it is not due to the nursery that the child was excluded.
