VerifiedDriving a car without insurance is contrary to section 143 of the Road Traffic Act. The fine is up to £5000 and 6-8 points on your licence.
If you are convicted of driving without a valid license then you are likely to incur between three and six penalty points and a fine of a maximum of £1000. You can also be banned from obtaining a license for a certain period of time.
Finally, driving while drunk give a maximum of 6 months in jail, 12 - 36 month ban, 3-11 points and up to a £5000 fine.
