What's the procedure in India? What do we need to take to British embassy in India? How long will it take?
Solicitor: frantzgregory, Lawyer replied 2 months ago

Unfortunately it is not a quick process especially if there is no record of her having ILR. Your uncle needs to contact the British embassy in India. She should go with the police report confirming passport is lost. If she was in the UK I am certain she would have had to send copies of her ILR somewhere in the UK to prove her status eg local council, gp etc

Do you know how long it takes once you've been to see the British embassy in India? She really needs to come here as she's not well.

My family in India did go to British embassy Jan this year. They haven't heard anything back as yet. Do you know how long it takes? Or is there anything we can do from here? Thank you.
Solicitor: frantzgregory, Lawyer replied 2 months ago
In Jan? and what did the embassy say?

I think they said we should hear from them within month. We didn't hear anything. I'm trying to get in touch with travel agent who did the paperwork for my uncle. I'm hoping once I have reference number of them I will be able to contact Indian embassy to find out what's happening. We just want her to come over as she's not well at all. I was wondering if we can do something here from uk? Thank you.

I know it's been 12 months. We've been waiting patiencly. I think travel agent tried to call British embassy and email them but he didn't hear anything back. We were like it will be sorted soon. Now that she's not well I've got involved. Before I left it to my uncles here and in India to sort it. Before I didn't say anything as I thought my uncles knows what they are doing. We didn't get anywhere with what ever they tried. Is there anything I can do to sort the ILR stamp for her? Please tell me the procedure? Thank you.

I've never done something like this so please bear with me.
I've never done something like this so please bear with me.Right. So heres a backstory on my boyfriend right now:My boyfriend is 29 at the moment, He joined the country around 2011/2012, to work for the army. He had just finished his training only to be told, he couldn't continue because he was part of the commonwealth countries (From Ghana.) So he dropped out unfortunately, however, he wase in a relationship with a girl who had been told by one immigration lawyer that they should wait till they want to marry. They dated for 4 years, and she eventually walked away from the relationship. So now, me and him have been dating for a while. During that time, he has letters warning of deportation, we discussed him going home, however, we both agreed it wouldnt work :a) We both have health ailments that if we went back to his home country, we'd be worser off than here b) He genuinely did want to serve in the army. I've seen all necessary documents to prove so. c) He has shown very genuine signs of fear to return as he lost many connections and would not be supported if he returned. He has had suicidal thoughts of the thought of returning permanently. He would have no opportunities and no support network. We want to know right now, what are our options for him? If anything I have a british citizenship(born in UK.) I thought that wanting to join the army and going through all the training to work for a country you'd be seen with more favour for risking your life. I dont know?Anyone who's been through a similar situation? What can we do? … read more
