Customer Question

i am a phd student having a tier 4 student visa which is still valid for the next 18 months, i did seek asylum recently and i will be having the screening interview on the next week,if i withdraw my asylum application now would that affect my current visa and my ability to extend later for the one year writing theses year?

Your current status should continue if you withdraw your application and you should be able to make further applications if necessary. Pay close attention to the declaration that would be made:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/policyandlaw/asylumprocessguidance/relateddocuments/specialcases/declaration.pdf?view=Binary

This would make it very difficult to make a claim for asylum in the future.

If you want to withdraw then you should do so very quickly.
