Hi there bartledorset , Ok the oil filter on the 2.4 new shape transit is located on the underneath of the engine just above the subframe ,

the filter itself is a paper element and is held inside a black plastic housing ,

you will require a 27mm socket /spanner to slacken this plastic housing

this can be quite messy if you take it of to quick ( just a little tip )
