EAC Fail message, what is..engine revs

Resolved Question:

Hi There. EAC Fail message, what is that? At the start she's falling down with the engine revs and sometimes cut off. Is the a air flow meter maybe a cause of my prblem? Accelerator was changed for brand new and computer check shows "Accelerator idle position not learned".
Thank
Peter

Hi there Peter , Ok yes unfortunatley i have came across this problem a few times and as the fault is so interminent it can be very hard to dignose ,

there has been one occasion where a PCM has been fitted but its more rare ,this is a ETB fault and not a throttle pedal fault,

ford released a bullietin on this fault, and this is the first thing that has to be done and then continue monitor the situation

the cause of this fault is contact corrosion on both, the pins within the TP sensor and the fuel charging wiring harness electrical connector, causing the following diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) to be stored in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

P2135: Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A / B Voltage Correlation

P2119: Throttle Actuator Control Throttle Body Range/Performance

P2176: Throttle Actuator Control System - Idle Position Not Learned

To rectify this concern, the electronic throttle body must be removed, a new TP sensor and a new fuel charging wiring harness with both gold plated pins should be installed

and the PCM should be re-programmed to the latest level through fords IDS laptop

this is the kit you require

Kit-Electronic throttle control consists of:

1 509 254

you may need a full throttle body if the screws snap when removing them ( can be tight )

as i say after doing this monitor the situation and if it returns fit a new throttle body
