Hi, thanks for your enquiry, For Stamp Duty purposes, a married couple are treated as 1 person, so you would be liable to pay the enhanced rate if you decided to purchase a property.

Only if you decided to sell your existing property and buy another property at the same time would you/your husband be liable for the standard rate.
