Just bought a new LG...

Just bought a new LG Smart TV for bedroom & it's getting its input from the 2nd TV RF socket out the back of the Sky Plus box downstairs (with magic eye for remote channel changing). This worked fine on the old TV 5 minutes ago - but I cannot get new LG to "find" the input, even when I activate "aerial" socket as preferred input - my old TV simply sensed the input & always latched straight on. What am I missing here?

One thing I always wish to try and do is let you know if something comes up and I am not able to reply back right away but this is sometimes something I cannot avoid. I will always try to reply back to you right away however please understand that I may be busy answering another customer back and thus it may sometimes take time to reply back to you. As soon as I return I will be sure to reply back to you as soon as I am able to.

Your using a remote to change the sky box channels and the sky step top box, this means the step top box is used as the tuner for the channels and not an "areial/antenna" Thus on the lg tv you actually need to select "cable" instead of aerial connection for the rf input, once you select cable you then will usually use channel 3 or 4 or whichever you select in the menu as the default channel for the tv for viewing sky channels.

Once set to cable and tv is on the rf coax cable channel say 3 or 4 you then use the sky remote to change the channels.

If you have it on aerialon the tv then the tv can only use its internal tuner which must run a channel scan which is not possible on step top box use/external tuner.

I fully understand that I change channel via the Sky remote - but 'm not sure why it's trying to tune the cable channel as that doesn't make sense. There doesn't seem to be a simple way of setting a default channel for the co axial input - I can use the Sat in socket on the TV rather than the Aerial in socket...

No - I switched source to Cable, and then left it auto tuning and when I went back 10 minutes later, the Sky channel was playing and all is well! So your nugget was gold! Thanks.
