Matt. We have a VW crafter 30 35 Minibus, 2010 model, 2.5L
we have a VW crafter 30 35 Minibus, 2010 model, 2.5L engine. It started 6 months ago with exhaust fumes in the cabin. We could not see the smoke but could smell it. Keep going back and forth to mechanic. He said he cleaned the EGR valve. But no change. Then he suggested changing the DPF. Due the continues smell of exhaust fumes we agreed and had a new DPF. It did not improve the driving but the smell of smoke stopped for a week. Then we started getting thick blue smoke. Once the engine was hit and was doing it automatic cooling the smoke start. We did a motorway drive in case it was the DPF regenerating. The smoke stopped. The mechanic checked again and said we need a DPF diagnostic. Had a full DPF diagnostic by TerraClean. They said DPF is showing empty but when mechanic put camera in the DPF it showed blocked. So DPF was changed again but mechanic also saw a little smoke leaking from Turbo. Turbo express Portsmouth suggested a new Turbo as apparently its more expensive to repair. So New DPF and New Turbo but minibus is still making heavy blue smoke when the engine is hot. This is continuous until we do a motorway run. It then stop for a day but then carry on again. We have spent nearly £3000 and the problem is worse than it was 6 months ago.
